| Winter 2006 Arts Alumni Event Alumni Reception, opening night of Drums Downtown III Please join Mellasenah Morris, director of the School of Music, Susan Powell and Susan Hadley on Friday, February 24 for an alumni reception during intermission on opening night of Drums Downtown III at the Capitol Theatre, Riffe Center, 77 S. High St. in Downtown Columbus. The performance begins at 8 pm. This electrifying evening of percussion performances from the OSU School of Music also features 30 dancers from the OSU Department of Dance. Now in its third year, Drums Downtown merges percussive beats with engaging movement, and spotlights the OSU Percussion Ensemble, directed by Susan Powell and Joseph Krygier. Dance faculty member Susan Hadley presents two new choreographic works; three additional dance pieces by students will be performed. The evening includes a special appearance by the Shiraz Trio (Scott Herring, Joseph Krygier, Susan Powell). The alumni reception takes place during intermission. From the Capitol Theatre, simply take the escalator (or elevator) up one floor to the 5th floor lobby. We'll be right at the top of the escalator.
