The playwright and author will be on campus Friday, September 28 to present her autobiofictional solo performance, Womb-Words, Thirsting.

Moise, who recites from scrolls, from memory and with movement, regularly performs at universities in the US and induced standing ovations at the 2000 and 2001 National Poetry Slams. The was New World Theater's 2003 Poety Slam champion, and recieved the 2005-06 Astraea Loving Lesbians Award for Poetry.

“Lenelle Moise’s visit to campus gives our students the opportunity to meet with a contemporary artist who is following a career path similar to which they aspire,” says Mark Shanda, chair of Ohio State’s Department of Theatre. “Her unique combination as a writer, director, performer and video artist fits well with our MFA acting program’s focus on performer-generated new works. By engaging an artist such as Moise, our students can expand the foundation of their own artistry.”
