SHAWN HOVE (Lecturer/Research Associate) received his
MFA in
Choreography and Dance/Technology from The Ohio State University in 2005
and his BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in 1997. He
is a multidisciplinary dance artist investigating and working in dance
as a choreographer, dancer, collaborator, lighting designer and media
artist. He has performed for the Seattle based companies Wade Madsen
and Dancers, Wolf Works, and The Crispin Spaeth Dance Group. His choreographic
work as been produced throughout the state of Washington and Ohio. Hove
is also on staff for the Bates Dance Festival as video production assistant,
where he also has the opportunity to light work for guest and faculty
artists. Shawn is currently on the Board for Columbus Movement
Movement. He has worked with John Meuller and 2003 MFA graduate
Jessica Lindberg creating a DVD on Loie Fuller's Fire Dance and with
Meuller creating the DVD on Leonide Massine's Gaite Parisien for the
Dance Film Archive. His dance research looks at the blending of
disciplines in dance through practice and collaborations.
