Robert Ladislas Derr joined the department of art faculty in 2004. He has performed and exhibited worldwide at such venues as the Blueroom (Rome, Italy), Photographic Resource Center (Boston, MA), American Academy in Rome (Rome, Italy), Bissaya Barreto’s Foundation (Coimbra, Portugal), Irish Film Institute (Dublin, Ireland), Art Interactive (Cambridge, MA), DiVA Festival (New York, NY), and International Festival Of Electronic Art 404 (Rosario, Argentina). Derr has received numerous grants and fellowships such as an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council and stipend from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (New York, NY). It can be said that he puts himself literally in the center of a barrage of questions about life and making art.
